The center is set on 200 acres of lowland tropical moist forest in the picturesque Maya Mountains, centrally located in Belize and easily accessed on the Hummingbird Highway. The site boasts multiple natural swimming holes along beautiful Dry Creek. A network of trails run throughout the property and connect to the highland jungles of the Sibun Forest Reserve, offering excellent hiking, waterfall rapelling, and wildlife viewing opportunities. There is also an organic lime orchard located on site, along with numerous other fruit trees including mango, avocado, cashew, and guava. Finally, the grassy fields surrounding the guest facilities are perfect for enjoying a game of soccer, frisbee, croquet, or bocci ball! The surrounding natural features are ideally suited for students interested in pursuing studies in terrestrial or freshwater ecology, organic agriculture, and landscape architecture, although students in other disciplines might be interested in using this station as a base for research and educational pursuits off-site.
